It all began when I was just a curious 5-year-old! My parents planted the seed, by opening our very first preschool — we lived upstairs and below was a lively, joyful place filled with learning. My mum’s incredible love for teaching young minds sparked something inside me that has only grown over the years.

I learnt that at the heart of everything is a warm, child-focused, and family-friendly approach. As life unfolded, my passion led me to become a dedicated center manager for eight of our family’s preschools by the age of 19, all while continuing my studies.

As the world of early years education evolved, it was no longer aligned to core values I stood by, and it was time to move on.

Through my 13 years of marriage and motherhood, my husband and I established different business ventures still in operation today (such as property development, establishing a credit license for finance services, high quality NDIS services and SDA, as well as import/export of globally essential products, to name a few). Yet, teaching my four wonderful kids (with a fifth on the way!) rekindled my passion.

In my pursuit of quality education for my own children, every service fell short —the positive learning standards I envisioned were nonexistent, with all other services – whilst doing their best, they were simply teaching methods of memorisation rather than a genuine, deep understanding of literacy and numeracy concepts.

This renewed purpose and God’s powerful direction brought about the establishment of SKYLAS, a true reflection of the passion for offering an exceptional service to children and families in a joyful, faith-filled space. Our family-centered approach beautifully aligns with the real evidence-based principles of literacy and numeracy.
